Creative writing

Below is a writing prompt. Your challenge is to produce a piece of writing that includes the words in the prompt. However, you only have 100 words with which to do it!

…but where would we hide it all?!

Things to think about:

What is the ‘all’ referred to?

Where is it now?

Why does it have to be moved?

This needs to be completed by next Thursday.

Team 6 🙂

Merry Christmas!!

Team,

Have a magical Christmas! Your homework is to enjoy relaxing and spending quality time with your family.

See you in 2018!

Science photos

In Science lessons after Christmas, we will be learning about evolution. For the first lesson, we will be looking at ‘inheritance’.  Please bring in photos of you and your parents (separate photos or all on one) so we can look closely at any traits you may have inherited.  You can also bring in photos of other family members if relevant.

Thank you

Year 6 Team

Charity homework

On Thursday, a lady from PDSA visited our school and we learnt lots about the charity and the care they provide for animals. Linked to this, your homework this week is to research a charity of your choice. You could present your work as a poster, leaflet or as a powerpoint presentation. Things to include:

What does the charity do?

When did it form?

How did the charity form?

How much does it cost to run the charity?

You could also include other information/facts that you have found.

Finally, a huge well done to all of you for both performances of The Lion King! You were all fantastic. What a great team we are!

Spellings

Team,

Over the next few weeks, we would like you to have a look over the 100 word spelling list that is attached. Try to learn as many new words as you can.

Lion King reminder:

It is an expectation that your child attends both evenings, regardless of which cast they are in. As a year group, we have worked hard on the singing and dancing and every child has a part to play.

Timings:

Main cast to arrive at 6:15pm.

Choir and dancers to arrive at 6:30pm.

Parents to arrive at 6:45pm for a 7pm start.

Parents – if you are not coming to watch the show, you will need to collect your child from the year 4 entrance at 8:15pm. Children will not be allowed to make their own way home unsupervised.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you all next week.

Lion King

Team,

Your homework this week is to learn all of the words to ‘He Lives In You’. See attached: He lives in you lyrics

A little plea to both year 6 and parents – please could you bring your costume into school on Monday. Plain clothes (the colour of your animal) are fine; if you do not have chance to make animal ears we can find some time next week but try your best as time is running away from us!

Thank you for all of your support.

Beth Shalom

This week we visited Beth Shalom. We followed the story of Leo, a German-Jewish boy growing up in Berlin in the 1930s and we were privileged to listen to a survivor tell their story. What did you learn from our visit to Beth Shalom?

You can record your work in your homework book or on this sheet: beth shalom homework

Lion King

Team,

Your homework this week is to learn the song words to a circle of a life. You can find a copy here: circle of life lyrics

Your class teacher will also have paper copies.

If you have lines to learn please practise most evenings – it’s important that you know them without a script.

It’s been a great first week of rehearsals – we’re very excited!!

Have a great weekend.

Autumn homework – due in Thursday 9th November

Team,

Apologies for the blog being out of action over the last few weeks but we’re now back up and running!

Your new homework task:

We would like you to create a piece of work to represent Autumn. This could be a piece of art work, a video, photographs you’ve taken, a PowerPoint, a 3D model, a poem, a story……or WOW us with your own idea.

You have three weeks to complete this and we will be having an exhibition in the hall so you can all showcase your amazing work. There will be prizes for the most creative pieces of work.

Good luck!

Team 6 🙂
